Chris Walsh Biography

Walsh MugshotThe Buffalo Bills didn't know what they were letting go.

You may not know who Chris Walsh is, but you've seen him. Walsh made his mark on the special teams unit of the Minnesota Vikings. After two seasons of gathering splinters with the Bills, Walsh came to the Minnesota Vikings in 1994 and developed into a premiere special teams player. He lead the Vikings in special teams tackles two consecutive seasons (1997-1998) and has made the highlight reel of ESPN with his bone crushing, brain squishing hits.

In his senior year of high school at Ygnacio Valley, CA, Walsh earned an honorable mention for All-American honors. From there, Walsh went to Stanford, where he caught 141 passes for 1,451 yards (and still managed to be on the honor roll and nab a quantitative economics degree).

Undoubtedly you've heard of the "other" Viking receivers, Cris Carter, Matthew Hatchette and Randy Moss. They're not bad. What they lack is the versatility of a Chris Walsh, who has handled kickoffs (5 kicks, 58 total yards) and has a quarterback rating of 2.1 (he's 0/1). And, with 24 career receptions and two touchdowns, it's only a matter of time before he matches the numbers those other guys are getting.

Once, he also split open the kicker's chin during pre-game festivities (the kicker required to quickly be stitched up before coming out on the field). I'm not sure what category that fits into, but it's a Chris Walsh thing.

This is a 'fan site' and is not endorsed by Chris Walsh, the Minnesota Vikings or the National Football League. Heck, my Mom doesn't endorse this place.
