The "Unofficial" Chris Walsh Fan Club

Vikings 31, Saints 24 - 11/8/98

This was one of the most exciting games I have ever attended and our man Walsh was pumped. Not only was his active cheer leading received by great enthusiasm, but he was all over the field on special teams. Almost blocked a punt down near the endzone after doing a cool little dance with a lineman.

While I don't think he got any tackles, he showed his speed by filling some gaps and forcing the return man to head for the sidelines. I think it was the first punt by the Saints that Walsh was the first guy down the field. While he nearly broke his ankles... he did his job.

Walsh is such a great receiver the stadium announcer figured Walsh was the intended receiver - even though he was on the sideline during the play.

For whatever reason, Walsh got in for one offensive snap. As I motioned to my brother that number 81 was coming in, my brother immediately said "Well, it's a running play!" which it did turn out to be.

For the second home game in a row (for me; I missed one) all the cool stuff happened in my endzone, including the kneel downs to end the game. Walsh played the cover position, where you stand behind the QB in case the ball gets loose. He was making weight lifting poses while Johnson was under center on both plays. Maybe it was his special way of saying hello to our governor elect who was in attendance.

This is a 'fan site' and is not endorsed by Chris Walsh, the Minnesota Vikings or the National Football League. Heck, my Mom doesn't endorse this place.
