The "Unofficial" Chris Walsh Fan Club

Vikings 38, Ravens 28 - 12/13/98

Holding!!!Someone got chewed out after the game and it was probably Chris Walsh. The special teams gave up consecutive kick off returns for touchdowns in the first quarter. The first run back shows Walsh clearly being held, the second shows a rather dejected Walsh after the play.

When the Vikings and David Palmer returned the favor, Walsh was nowhere to be found. I replayed the run back a few times and I didn't see him anywhere.

You sure can't call Walsh a quitter. In the second quarter, Walsh just flung himself into the wedge. Complete sacrifice of his body. The true makings of a special teams hero.

Later on in the second quarter, while on special teams, Walsh got in on a tackle. Towards the end of the quarter, Walsh started making friends with the guy who was trying to block him.

Onside recoveryTotal Offensive Opportunities for first half: 2 plays

For the second half our man got in two offensive plays, picking up the blitz on third and goal. After the Anderson field goal, Walsh got in on the tackle on the ensuing kickoff. He came up limping and after the next play, Walsh can be seen limping on the sidelines.

He toughed it out and came in for the onside kick at the end of the game. He recovered the kick without incident.

Walsh had a story on him in the Pioneer Press last Saturday labeled "Old Reliable."

I recorded this game too. After finals, it's gonna be hours of digitizing.

Jerry Glanville sure seems to like Chris Walsh. Check out what he had to say in this .wav file.
