The "Unofficial" Chris Walsh Fan Club

For the final game of the season, our man, Chris Walsh had a solid game. He picked up two special teams tackles, played wide receiver for some offensive snaps and performed his usual end zone cheerleading.

Before the game, I made my way through the southern end zone taking pictures for a photography class. I found a couple with face paint on sitting in the front row, so I asked to take their picture. After the quick snapshot, the guy asked if I had on a real Walsh jersey. I expressed my disappointment that no, it's an Anthony Carter jersey. The couple expressed their enthusiasm for Walsh. They then showed me a black hanky, similar to what Target handed out, that had "Walsh" on it. Apparently, they had a white version of this hanky as well, and both had been seen on the jumbotron. The many times I have seen Walsh point over to their area, he was pointing at them. During the game, they again got on the big screen, proudly displaying their hanky and again Walsh pointed to them. I gave them this URL, hopefully, they'll drop by (they did... and sent me a couple more photos!).

I spotted a guy standing in the isle down at the first row leaning on the railing wearing a Walsh jersey. I boogied over there and asked him where he got it. He had it custom made at a price that shows I'm not the most hard core Walsh fan out there. Because of the view, I stood there for awhile and Walsh came out for stretching exercises. He came over to us and yelled "I'd better hear you guys!" and later threw a ball into the crowd (and they actually threw it back!).

So, the most exciting game I have ever attended marks the end of the most exciting season I have ever witnessed. It was a great season for the Vikings, Chris Walsh and us the fans, both the hard core fans and those who hopped on the bandwagon.
