The "Unofficial" Chris Walsh Fan Club

Vikings 24, Eagles 13 - 8/26/99

As the pre-season winds down, Walsh's offensive involvement starts to dwindle while he spends more time on special teams.

His special teams play tonight was outstanding, ending with at least three tackles. During his second tackle, he was in the process of being blocked into the air while the return man ran into him, but he still managed to bring him down. The third tackle came during a punt coverage, where Walsh was left untouched to the return man. Walsh was completely faked out by some shake-and-bake by the return man, but did manage to recover to make the tackle.

Walsh did get in on some offense during the second half, making a couple of nice grabs, including one pass that was nearly picked off. Walsh managed to keep his concentration and grab the ball. He also contributed to the special teams, managing to down the ball on the 4 yard line after a Vikings punt.

During the last punt the Vikings did, Berger was in formation but started to look a tad worried looking around. He started for the sideline making hand gestures. Suddenly, Walsh came screaming from the sidelines trying to get into position. He got his helmet strapped on just as the long-snapper hiked the ball. I'm not sure, but I think he got held on the play. The holding flag was near his location and Walsh didn't make it far from the line of scrimmage.

During a lull, the dome folks played some football follies. This week: An "All Day" montage, featuring several players exuberantly exclaiming that they plan on being there "All Day" which included our favorite player offering his rendition.
